TATU got the first piece of Banana Creme Pie and I got the second piece. COOKIES desserts are, as the saying goes, to kill for. UMM UM!!

CHIEF is a friend of BANDIT's and he was here telling us about a ride and drawing his church was sponsoring. The drawing is for a Ridley Trike. Tickets are only $20.

I have known CHIEF several years as we both ride with the Patriot Guard Riders, as does TATU, and we see each other on many a mission.

THE TRAVELS OF COOKIE'S GOC VEST 8-11-2011

When I bought my Harley a few weeks ago, my friend, Steve, threw in a lot of goodies. One of the goodies was an XL leather vest. I tried it on at home and even with vest expander's it would not fit me. Leather vests, as we all know, can be deceiving when it comes to the tagged size, as some would be larger and others smaller than tagged. I knew Cookie was looking for a vest to put her patches on, so I rode up to Byers Texas to the Byers Cafe (Cookie owns the cafe), and saw Cookie. Scroll down and join me on this brief and quick ride and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.

I left Wichita Falls early to ride up to Byers Texas because we have had two months straight of temperatures  of 105+ and no rain since April 10, 2011, and I wanted to get back home before it got above 105. Byers is about 25 miles from Wichita Falls and is the last city in Texas on Texas Hwy 79 before crossing over into Oklahoma. Above is the Byers Texas city limits sign.

I arrive at the Byers Cafe. Above is my  Harley in the front parking lot of the business, by the signs.

Another view of the Byers Cafe and my bike.

Since I rode up to Byers to see if the vest would fit Cookie, I decided to have a little fun and document the travels of the vest if it fit her. I carried it up in my right saddlebag and here it is draped over that saddlebag and my passenger seat.

A closeup view of the vest, as if you have never seen one before. LOL

Meet Cookie.; Inside the cafe, I had her try on the vest and it fit. She could snap it up or wear it with vest expander's. I then gave the vest to Cookie so she could have her GOC patches put on it and she would blend in with the rest of us.

Here is Cookie showing off the GOC back patch. She was very happy and couldn't wait to get the vest back.

What I did next was put the vest and the bag of patches to be sewn on it, back in the saddlebag and then headed back to Wichita Falls and RED RIVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON to see Terri. Terri is the wife of GOC member, Thor, and she works at the service counter at the dealership. She also sews patches on vests. Here is Cookies vest displayed on  my bike when I arrived at RRHD.

Another close up view of the back of the vest.

I go inside the dealership and lay the vest and bag of patches on the service desk and waited for Terri to emerge from the parts area, in the back.

Another view of Cookie's vest on the parts counter at RED RIVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON. For more on the dealership, see this link: http://www.redriverharley-davidson.com/

Meet Terri. She is holding Cookie's GOC back patch and leather vest. She said she will get the patches sewn on and would give it to Thor to give to Cookie at our monthly meeting this Sunday.

On the way out of the dealership, I stop and say hi to Choyce. He will be my salesman when I buy a new bike. If you are looking for a new or used Harley and are in the vicinity of RED RIVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON, I suggest you stop and see Choyce. He is very knowledgeable and a good friend. He can help you get the ride of your life.

I stop by the Motorclothes Department and see my favorite salesgirl, Wendi.  Here she is showing me her new tattoo. She can help you find that piece of Harley clothing that you are looking for as well as the many accessories that are available to help make your day. And ladies: they have LOTS of bling!! a whole bunch!!

I finally get out to the bike and get geared up for the final leg of today's ride and that is to home.. It was starting to get hot and my leather vest was making it hotter...

A quick 10 miles later, I arrive at home. Here is my vest on the back of the bike in the garage.

Another view of my vest on the bike in the garage. This will conclude this post. The next post will be of the meeting this Sunday (8-14-2011) and I am quite sure a picture or two will be taken of Cookie & her traveling vest and will be included in that post.
