RIDE TO BANDIT'S HOUSE 3-7-2011

Monday, 3-7-2011, I was going to ride up to Ryan Oklahoma and see Bandit, the President of the Red        River Chapter-Guardians Of The Children and get my road name tag for my vest. I had asked Tatu, a Red  River Chapter member and a good friend, if he wanted to ride up to Bandit's with me. He agreed, so , scroll down and join us on this ride and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.

As I headed up to Byers Texas to get Tatu, I took US82, the Kell Freeway. I would take the Ft. Worth exand head down to the Waurika Oklahoma exit.

The Ft. Worth exit would take me up on the new overpass and it would drop me down to southbound US287

Getting on TX79, which would take me to Byers Texas, I saw that Wichita County Sheriff  Deputy's were out doing their thing.

I pull into Tatu's driveway and see he has his bike out and ready to go and his wife has her bike out behind his.

We pull out from Tatu's house and go to the gas station so he could gas up his bike. The only problem was that the gas station was out of gas. Tatu now had to ride up to Waurika Oklahoma for gas

Here is Tatu as we head up TX79 enroute to Waurika Oklahoma

Another view of Tatu heading North up TX 79

I was curious to see if I could get a picture of Tatu's rear fender at 75 mph. I did. I like the paint job on his Harley.

Here is Tatu as we head over the Red River Bridge into Oklahoma.

We were at the Waurika Quick Stop gassing up Tatu's bike, when Bandit pulled up. Seems Ryan Oklahoma gas stations were out of gas too and he had to drive up to Waurika to get gas. Tatu put  3.7 gallons into his 4.1 gas tank

Tatu and I were talking and he thought he had been turning gray. So, I took this picture of him and told him it only made him look like a bad ass..

So far, every time Tatu and I have ridden together, I have taken a picture of him in front of a quick stop or something similar and today would be no different.

We get to Bandit's and here is a 1973 Harley Sportster chopper he's rebuilding. The Sportsters back in 73 were 1000cc and AMF Harleys. I know because I screwed up and bought a 1974 AMF Harley Sportster new back in 74 and let's just say, thank God Harley got them back...

This is Bandit's Harley. It's a 1999 Heritage Softail Classic and runs great

This is our President Bandit and his son, Gabriel. I really like Bandit. He is "good people"

We stay for awhile and I get my road name patch and we head back outside. Around the corner is a 1983 Honda Aspencade that they are rebuilding also. Maybe one of you can tell me because I wanted to ask Bandit but I forgot. Were  the Aspencades the fore runners of the Goldwings or SilverWings?

On the way back to Texas, I wanted to try to get a picture of Tatu like the one I got of Thor coming back from Marlow a couple weeks ago.  So I pulled out in front of Tatu when we got established on US81 and starting taking pictures over my shoulder.

This one was pretty darn close and I signaled Tatu to pull up closer.

When Tatu pulled in close, I got a shot that was pretty close to Thor's and I was happy with it as I am sure Tatu will be when he sees it.

The picture being taken, I pull over to the right and Tatu takes back his lead position.

Here is Tatu as we go back across the Red River bridge and into Texas

And here is the Welcome to Texas sign on TX79

Tatu turned off in Byers Texas and I continued home. When I got on Barnett Rd, this yellow Harley comes screaming up behind me. On it is my friend and Bass player for Broken Chains Freedom Church in Wichita Falls Texas, Dylan, aka The Kid. He had a purple Road King for sale and he must have sold it because he was on that new bright yellow Harley. I'll have to find out what the deal on it was and let ya'll know. He       turned off at the stadium and I went on in to the housing edition and home

When I got home, I took out the name tag and looked at it. It looked great.  Bandit, ya did good!! Now, all I have to do is wait until my vest comes in and I will get all the patches sewn on and start wearing it proudly every time I ride the bike . And this will conclude this post.

I enjoyed riding up to Ryan Oklahoma with Tatu today. I enjoyed seeing Bandit again and meeting his son, Gabriel. And I want to thank Bandit for the roadname patch.. THANKS BANDIT, YOU DA MAN!!
